The Biracy ProjectTM is operated and presented to users in all locations by Binoir Media Inc. (“Binoir”) of Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. This Privacy Policy covers use of information collected by Binoir.
We are dedicated to safeguarding any personal information collected on the biracy.com website. Our Privacy Policy is our guarantee to keep your personal information completely confidential. We will only use your information in accordance with the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Consent
By accepting the Member Web Service Agreement and the Privacy Policy in registration, you expressly consent to our use and disclosure of your personal information in the manner described in this Privacy Policy.
Information We Collect
When you register on the Website, you voluntarily submit certain personally identifiable information (“PII”), such as your name, email address, mailing address, telephone number, credit card number, for the purpose of creating a Member Account. We will store the PII for the sole purpose of providing you with the Services. You can always change the information in your account in the manner detailed in the Member Web Service Agreement .
We also collects some non-personally identifiable data, such as your IP address, browser software identification and the domain from which you entered the Website, in order to enhance your experience on the Website and help us protect your member information and possibly detect its unauthorized use. We also collects statistical information in the aggregate, for example to tabulate voting activity.
Who We Share Information With
We consider the PII contained in our database to be confidential. We will never disclose PII about you to any of our affiliates or to third parties who work for us. We do not allow third-party companies to solicit or advertise to our users. Our intention is to keep biracy.com free from any sort of direct advertising.
Your name only will be displayed on the Member Account Page of the Member your identified as having referred you to the Website.
We will disclose your PII if required by law, regulation or government authority, or to protect the rights and property of Binoir, its affiliates or the public. For example, we may be required by law to disclose PII about you without your consent and without notice in order to comply with a valid legal process such as a subpoena, court order, or search warrant.
Because of the international nature of the Service provided by Binoir, we may transfer PII and store it outside of the jurisdiction in which a Member is located. As set out above, biracy.com is operating from Canada, which was recognized as a country providing an adequate level of protection, so that the information we collect will be processed and stored there. Through your use of the Services you are explicitly consenting to the transfer of your personal data to Binoir entities located in Canada for the specific purposes described in this Privacy Policy.
Retention of Personally Identifiable Information
We will keep your personal data only as long as you are an active member of The Biracy ProjectTM. Should you become an inactive member (as defined in the Member Web Service Agreement), we will retain your personal information for a minimum period of 18 months at which time we will delete your membership record. From that date, for administrative and troubleshooting purposes, we will retain minimal identifying data from your record. This data will only be used to identify your account and will not be shared with anyone. It will be stored in an inactive database with restricted access.
Cookies
When visitors come to our site, we may passively collect certain non-personally identifiable computer information, such as the type of computer operating system (e.g., Windows XP or Mac OS), the user’s IP Address, the web browser (e.g., Firefox, Internet Explorer) being used, the frequency with which guests visit various parts of our sites, and information regarding the Internet service provider, in order to make our sites more interesting and useful to you and for various purposes related to our business. Nevertheless, members must realize that absolute security does not yet exist on the internet.

Note that information you reveal in a public forum (such as message boards) will be seen by third parties not related to Binoir and is therefore not subject to this Privacy Policy. Also, if you link to a third party site from biracy.com, any information you reveal on that site is not subject to this Privacy Policy. Financial Information
As noted above, if you decide to purchase a membership, your full name, email address, credit card billing information including mailing address will be required at the time of purchase. That information is not stored by Us, and, instead, is collected and stored by our payments processing vendor for the purpose of processing payments made to Us. That information is safeguarded with appropriate security, and it will not be used for other purposes. Furthermore, our payments processing vendor has agreed to maintain the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the personal and financial information it obtains from our website, and only to use this information on our behalf. Our financial institution is bound by all applicable privacy laws relating to the provision of financial services.
Changes To This Policy
The privacy policy set out above is effective as of September 30, 2009, and applies to all information previously obtained by Binoir. We reserve the right to change the privacy policy at our sole discretion. As required by law, we will not use PII in ways that are materially different from the ones described in this Privacy Policy without also providing notification of such practices and obtaining consent to any such different uses. If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you here, by email, or by means of a notice on our home page.
